In one of the most extensive police reshuffles in recent memory, the Maharashtra government has reassigned 44 Indian Police Service (IPS) officers to new positions across the state. The sweeping exercise sees Vijay Kharat taking charge as Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) in Navi Mumbai, while Vishal Gaikwad moves in as Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP), Loh Marg, Pune City. Ganesh Shinde joins as DCP in Brihanmumbai (BMC), and Dinesh Bari has been shifted to lead the Anti-Terrorism Squad in Mumbai as Superintendent of Police (SP). Among the other transfers, Ujjwala Banker moves to the State Intelligence Department in Mumbai, and Sandeep Jadhav joins as SP, CID, Nashik. Yashwant Solankhe takes over as Additional SP at the Anti-Narcotics Squad in Nagpur, while Pankaj Dahane and Kavita Nerkar join as DCP in Brihanmumbai. Pallavi Barge has been assigned as SP, Information Technology Department, Pune, alongside Sambhaji Kadam as SP, CID, Pune. Akbar Pathan has been posted to the Maharashtra Police Academy in Nashik, while S S Patil and Dheeraj Patil join as DCP in Pimpri Chinchwad. Vishal Thakur takes up his role as DCP, Navi Mumbai, and Sachin Pandkar has been posted as Additional SP in Dharashiv. Himmat Jadhav, Shivaji Pawar, Purnima Chougule, and Pankaj Dahane have all been assigned as DCP in Brihanmumbai. Ramesh Chopde has been designated DCP, Maritime Security, at the State Intelligence Department, and Ashok Bhagwan Nakhate takes charge as Additional SP in Chalisgaon, Jalgaon. Vaishali Shinde has been posted as DCP, Special Security Squad, at the State Intelligence Department, while Pritam Yavalkar is now DCP, Solapur City. Prashant Shrirag Amrutkar joins as DCP, Pune City, and Aarti Bansode has been appointed Commandant of the State Reserve Police Force, Group No. 7. Vikram Deshmukh rounds out the transfers with his posting as DCP, Mira-Bhayandar-Vasai-Virar. The wide-ranging reshuffle, covering key metropolitan and district units, signals a significant restructuring of Maharashtra's law enforcement leadership.
