PESB Recommends Daya Nand Katyayan for Director (Projects), TCIL

The Public Enterprises Selection Board has recommended Daya Nand Katyayan, currently Senior General Manager and Business Area Head for Faridabad at Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited, for the post of Director (Projects) at Telecommunications Consultants India Limited, a Schedule A public sector undertaking.

TCIL executes telecom infrastructure and consultancy projects for the government both within India and overseas, including network rollouts for foreign governments under bilateral cooperation programmes. The Director (Projects) post is a board-level position responsible for project execution, timelines and delivery across this portfolio.

Katyayan's current charge at BSNL as Business Area Head for Faridabad has involved managing telecom operations and customer service delivery for that region, a role that combines commercial and technical oversight of the state-run telecom operator's local network.

He moves from BSNL, the loss-making state telecom operator that has been undergoing a network revival push tied to 4G rollout, to a board post at TCIL, a smaller but internationally active PSU under the Department of Telecommunications.

The recommendation is part of the PESB's routine process of filling board-level vacancies across central public sector enterprises, and follows the government's broader directive to ministries to keep top PSU posts filled without prolonged gaps.

At TCIL, Katyayan would be joining a company whose overseas project pipeline, spanning Africa and parts of Asia, has made timely project delivery and cost control central to its board's priorities.

The PESB recommendation will go to the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet for final clearance before Katyayan can formally take charge as Director (Projects), TCIL.
