Defence Secretary Rajesh Kumar Singh Takes Additional Charge of DRDO
Senior IAS officer Rajesh Kumar Singh, Defence Secretary, has been given additional charge of the DRDO chairmanship and Defence R&D secretaryship.
Rajesh Kumar Singh, presently serving as Secretary in the Ministry of Defence, has been entrusted with the additional charge of Secretary for Defence Research and Development as well as Chairman of the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO). A 1989-batch IAS officer belonging to the Kerala cadre, Singh brings extensive administrative experience to this expanded portfolio. The dual responsibility places him at the helm of India's critical defence technology and research apparatus at a time when the nation is prioritising indigenous defence manufacturing and cutting-edge military innovation. The additional charge arrangement is expected to ensure seamless leadership continuity within DRDO while formal appointments are being processed.
