Sindhu Pillai Shifted from Andaman and Nicobar Islands to Delhi

Sindhu Pillai, a 2001-batch IPS officer of the AGMUT cadre currently posted as Additional Director General of Police (ADG) in the Andaman and Nicobar Islands, has been shifted to Delhi, according to an order issued this week.

The AGMUT cadre covers Arunachal Pradesh, Goa, Mizoram, Union Territories and Delhi, and officers routinely move between these jurisdictions over the course of their careers as postings are centrally administered rather than confined to a single state. Pillai's move brings her from an island territory posting back to the national capital.

Her specific new assignment in Delhi has not been disclosed in the order shifting her out of the Andaman and Nicobar Islands post. Further posting details are expected once the Delhi Police or the relevant central department issues its own charge order.

The transfer takes effect with immediate effect.
