Uttar Pradesh Transfers 20 IAS Officers of Secretary, Special Secretary Rank
Uttar Pradesh has transferred 20 IAS officers of Secretary and Special Secretary rank across revenue, health, culture and tax departments, an order says.
The Uttar Pradesh government late on Thursday transferred 20 IAS officers holding the rank of Secretary and Special Secretary, one of the state's larger bureaucratic reshuffles this month.
The order touches departments ranging from revenue and medical education to culture, tourism and power distribution, reflecting a wide administrative reordering at the senior secretariat level. Secretary and Special Secretary postings sit directly below the Principal Secretary rank and carry direct charge of departmental policy implementation and coordination with district-level field officers.
Shudha Verma (IAS UP:2010), Secretary, Revenue department, moves to become the state's new Labour Commissioner. Dr Sarika Mohan (IAS UP:2006), Director General of Medical Education and Secretary, Medical Education Department, has been given additional charge of Director General, Registration. Neha Sharma (IAS UP:2010) moves from Director General, Registration, to Director General of Medical Education, along with charge of Secretary, Medical Education Department.
Arun Kumar (IAS UP:2012), Additional Director in the Geology and Mining Department, becomes Mission Director of the UP State Rural Livelihood Mission. J Reebha (IAS UP:2015), Special Secretary, Geology and Mining Department, has been given additional charge of Additional Director, Geology and Mining. Deepa Ranjan (IAS UP:2013) moves from Mission Director of the Rural Livelihood Mission to Special Secretary, Culture department.
Sanjay Kumar Singh-I (IAS UP:2012) has been relieved of his charge as Special Secretary, Culture Department, and will continue as Director, Charitable Affairs, with additional charge of Director, Culture. Vishal Singh (IAS UP:2015), Special Secretary Culture and Director Information, has been relieved of the Culture charge. Riya Kejriwal (IAS UP:2017) moves from Managing Director, Madhyanchal Vidyut Vitran Nigam Limited, Lucknow, to Special Secretary in the Child Development and Nutrition department, with Sandeep Bhagia (IAS UP:2018), currently Additional Commissioner, State Tax, in Gautam Buddh Nagar and Ghaziabad-II, taking over as Managing Director of the power distribution utility.
Parikshit Khatana (IAS UP:2020) moves from Chief Development Officer, Azamgarh, to Additional Commissioner, State Tax, Gautam Buddh Nagar, with Rakesh Kumar Patel (IAS UP:2010) shifting from Additional Commissioner, Lucknow division, to Chief Development Officer of Azamgarh. Renu Tiwari (IAS UP:2012), Special Secretary, Women and Child Development and Nutrition, has been relieved of the Nutrition charge. Jag Pravesh (IAS UP:2018) moves from Municipal Commissioner, Mathura-Vrindavan, to Special Secretary, Forest, Environment and Climate Change, with Ojaswi Raj (IAS UP:2020), Chief Development Officer, Ballia, taking over as Municipal Commissioner. Alok Kumar, recently promoted to the IAS from the post of ADM Gonda, has been posted as the new Chief Development Officer of Ballia.
Ajay Kumar Gautam moves from Chief Development Officer, Etawah, to Additional Commissioner, State Tax, Ghaziabad-I, with Sanjay Kumar Singh, ADM (Administration), taking over as Chief Development Officer of Etawah. Manikandan A. (IAS UP:2017), who was awaiting posting, has been made Additional Commissioner, Revenue Council. Dr Vandana Verma (IAS UP:2013), Special Secretary, Sugar Industries and Cane Development, has been given additional charge of Joint Managing Director, UP Sugar Mills Federation.
The volume of transfers, spanning revenue, health, culture, power and tax administration in a single order, points to a routine mid-year reordering of the state's secretariat rather than a response to any single administrative trigger.
The order was issued by the Uttar Pradesh government and takes effect immediately.
