Venkata Subrahamanayam Vallurie Assumes Charge as CFO, PowerGrid
Venkata Subrahamanayam Vallurie has taken charge as CFO of Power Grid Corporation of India, following board approval on June 10, 2026.
Venkata Subrahamanayam Vallurie has assumed charge as Chief Financial Officer of Power Grid Corporation of India Limited (POWERGRID), following board approval on June 10, 2026.
PowerGrid is India's central transmission utility, responsible for the bulk of the country's interstate power transmission network, and the CFO is a board-level position overseeing the company's capital expenditure financing, debt management and dividend policy.
The CFO's role at PowerGrid carries particular weight given the company's continuing capital expansion tied to evacuating renewable power from solar and wind-heavy states to load centres across the country.
Vallurie takes over the finance function at a stage when PowerGrid is raising funds through a mix of bonds, infrastructure investment trusts and internal accruals to finance its transmission build-out.
The appointment was cleared by the company's board on June 10, 2026, ahead of his taking charge.
As CFO, Vallurie will also be responsible for PowerGrid's investor communication and regulatory filings with the power sector regulator and stock exchanges, given the company's listed status.
Vallurie has formally assumed charge of the post, according to the board's approval.
