Virendra Kumar Yadav Transferred to RDSO, Lucknow
IRSEE officer Virendra Kumar Yadav has been transferred from East Central Railway to RDSO, Lucknow, in the same capacity.
Virendra Kumar Yadav, an officer of the Indian Railway Service of Electrical Engineers presently serving in East Central Railway, has been transferred and posted to the Research Designs and Standards Organisation in Lucknow, in the same capacity.
RDSO functions as the principal research and standard-setting body for Indian Railways, certifying rolling stock, signalling equipment and electrical systems before they are approved for use across the network. A same-capacity transfer there typically moves an officer from field operations into a role focused on technical standards and design review.
Yadav's prior posting on East Central Railway, one of the network's busier zones covering large parts of Bihar and Jharkhand, would have involved electrical maintenance and traction responsibilities on that zone's passenger and freight lines.
His move out of East Central Railway ends a stint there handling zonal electrical operations, a posting that typically comes with responsibility for traction power supply and overhead equipment across an assigned section.
Transfers of this kind, moving a zonal electrical officer into RDSO, are common as Indian Railways rotates technical staff between operational postings and the standards body to keep field experience feeding into design and certification work.
At RDSO, Yadav will be part of the establishment reviewing electrical and traction standards at a time when the organisation has been involved in certifying equipment for the railways' ongoing electrification and speed-upgrade programmes.
