PESB Recommends DVC's Chaitanya Prakash for Director (Power) at NLC India
PESB recommends DVC's P.L.S.S. Chaitanya Prakash for the post of Director (Power) at NLC India Limited after a competitive selection process.
The Public Enterprises Selection Board (PESB) has recommended P.L.S.S. Chaitanya Prakash, currently serving as Executive Director (Operations) at Damodar Valley Corporation (DVC), for the post of Director (Power) at NLC India Limited, formerly known as Neyveli Lignite Corporation. The PESB, which is the apex body for recommending board-level appointments at central public sector enterprises (CPSEs), follows a structured selection process involving scrutiny of eligibility, track record, and interviews before arriving at its recommendation. The endorsement of Chaitanya Prakash reflects a positive assessment of his operational credentials within the power generation sector. DVC, where Prakash currently serves, is a statutory corporation that manages hydroelectric and thermal power generation as well as irrigation projects across the Damodar Valley region in Jharkhand and West Bengal. His role as Executive Director (Operations) would have given him direct oversight of generation operations — experience directly relevant to the Director (Power) position at NLC India. NLC India Limited is a Navratna CPSE involved in lignite mining and power generation, with an expanding footprint in renewable energy projects. The Director (Power) oversees NLC's power generation business, including the management of thermal plants and the company's growing solar energy portfolio. The PESB's recommendation now awaits final approval from the competent authority — typically the Ministry of Coal and the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet — before the formal appointment order is issued.
