Deepesh Kumari's Cadre Transferred to UP Following Marriage to IFoS Officer
2022 batch IAS officer Deepesh Kumari's cadre transferred from Jharkhand to UP following her marriage to IFoS officer Gaurav Garg.
The cadre of IAS officer Deepesh Kumari has been transferred from Jharkhand to Uttar Pradesh on the grounds of her marriage to IFoS officer Gaurav Garg. A 2022 batch IAS officer, Kumari's cadre change is in line with the Government of India's established policy that allows married couples in the All India Services to seek cadre transfers to facilitate joint postings. The spouse posting policy, which covers IAS, IPS, and IFoS officers, permits inter-cadre transfers when an officer's spouse serves in a different cadre, provided vacancies and administrative considerations allow. Such transfers are processed through the DoPT and require approval at the appropriate level. Kumari's transfer from Jharkhand to UP, one of the largest IAS cadres in the country, will place her in a more populous and administratively complex environment, but also one with a wider range of posting options for a probationer-level officer. She and Gaurav Garg will now share the same cadre geography.
