Karnataka Deploys Four Senior IAS Officers to Lead Bengaluru's Urban and Power Infrastructure
Karnataka assigns four senior IAS officers to lead key civic bodies including Greater Bengaluru, BWSSB, KPTCL, and Bengaluru Urban district administration.
The Karnataka government has issued fresh executive orders deploying four senior Indian Administrative Service officers to lead critical urban governance and infrastructure bodies in and around Bengaluru, as the capital city undergoes a period of rapid structural transformation. Jagadeesha G has been posted as Commissioner of the Bengaluru Central City Corporation within the newly configured Greater Bengaluru Area, placing him at the centre of the city's expanding urban local governance framework. Dr. Manjula N takes charge as Chairperson of the Bengaluru Water Supply and Sewerage Board (BWSSB), where she faces the immediate challenge of strengthening water conservation networks and ensuring sustainable supply amid changing climate conditions. In the public sector energy segment, Dr. Ram Prasath Manohar V has been appointed Managing Director of the Karnataka Power Transmission Corporation Limited (KPTCL), where grid modernisation and green energy integration will be central to his mandate. Kantharaju P S completes the quartet, taking charge as Deputy Commissioner of Bengaluru Urban District to manage the district revenue and administrative apparatus. Bureaucratic observers note the significance of these simultaneous appointments at a moment when Bengaluru is navigating large-scale decentralisation, infrastructure upgrades, and climate-adaptive urban planning. Jagadeesha's role will be pivotal in implementing new decentralisation policies, while Dr. Manohar's stewardship of KPTCL is expected to accelerate Karnataka's transition toward a modern, greener grid. The collective administrative alignment reflects the state government's intent to place experienced officers at the intersection of civic, utility, and district governance functions.
