Gujarat Reassigns Four IAS Officers, Names New District Collectors for Jamnagar, Surendranagar, and Gandhinagar

The Gujarat government has announced new postings for four IAS officers, with three named as District Collectors and one assigned a divisional administrative role.

P B Pandya has been appointed Collector of Jamnagar, G H Solanki will take charge as Collector of Surendranagar, and Ravindra Dnyaneshwar Khatale has been designated Collector of Gandhinagar, placing fresh administrative leadership across three districts spanning Gujarat's Saurashtra region and the state capital's home district.

Eppalapally Susmitha has been transferred to serve as Prant Officer in Mahuva, located within Bhavnagar district, a sub-divisional administrative posting carrying responsibility for revenue administration and coordination of welfare scheme implementation within the designated sub-division.

District Collector postings carry direct administrative authority over revenue administration, law-and-order coordination, and implementation of state and central welfare schemes within a district, making these among the more operationally significant assignments within Gujarat's IAS cadre structure given the direct public-facing nature of the role.

Gandhinagar, as the district housing Gujarat's state capital, carries particular administrative significance given its proximity to the state secretariat and the coordination the Collector's office often requires with state-level departments headquartered in the same city.

Jamnagar and Surendranagar, both located within Gujarat's Saurashtra region, present distinct administrative profiles, with Jamnagar's coastal and industrial economy differing considerably from Surendranagar's more agriculture-dependent district economy, shaping the specific priorities each new Collector will need to address.

The transfer orders were issued through the Gujarat government's General Administration Department, which administers postings and transfers for the state's IAS cadre officers.
