Vidhi Kumar Birdi, a 2003-batch IPS officer from the AGMUT cadre, has been appointed as Inspector General (IG) in the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) on a deputation basis. The CRPF, India's largest central armed police force, plays a pivotal role in internal security operations across the country. Birdi's posting to the force at the IG level is expected to bring operational expertise from his previous assignments to CRPF's leadership structure.
