MP to Promote 13 SAS Officers to IAS and 9 SPS Officers to IPS in Cadre Review
Madhya Pradesh will promote 13 State Administrative Service officers to the IAS and 9 State Police Service officers to the IPS, with a DPC panel set to screen 66 candidates.
Bhopal, June 13, 2026: Madhya Pradesh will promote 13 State Administrative Service (SAS) officers to the Indian Administrative Service and 9 State Police Service (SPS) officers to the Indian Police Service, the state government confirmed.
A Departmental Promotion Committee — comprising UPSC representatives, the Chief Secretary, and the Director General of Police — will screen 66 candidates before finalising the list.
SAS officers cleared for IAS induction gain access to central deputation postings and a wider cadre of assignments. SPS officers elevated to IPS rank take on expanded command responsibilities across districts and ranges.
Madhya Pradesh covers 55 districts. The state has faced recurring shortfalls of IAS and IPS officers at the district level, and the current round of promotions is intended to fill posts that have remained vacant or on additional charge for extended periods.
Formal promotion orders will be issued after the DPC completes its review, with postings to follow.
