NTPC Appoints Anupam Mukherjee as Executive Director (Project); 36-Year Veteran Takes Charge

State-owned NTPC Limited has appointed Anupam Mukherjee as its new Executive Director (Project), reinforcing the leadership team at a time when the power giant is aggressively expanding its generation capacity across India. Mukherjee brings a distinguished career spanning 36 years at NTPC, during which he has made pivotal contributions in erection, commissioning, operations, project management and business development. Most recently, he led the successful completion of the Telangana 2x800 MW and Patratu 2x800 MW power projects — two of the company's most significant recent additions. Over the course of his career, Mukherjee has helmed major project completions including Bongaigaon Thermal Power Project, Barh Super Thermal Power Project, and several Flue Gas Desulphurisation projects at Vallur, Kudgi, Solapur, Mouda and Telangana. He has held leadership positions at NTPC's Talcher Kaniha plant in Odisha, the Corporate Centre in New Delhi, the Southern Region headquarters in Hyderabad and the Patratu project in Jharkhand. His appointment is expected to sharpen NTPC's project execution capabilities and support the company's ambitious capacity addition targets as India's energy demand continues to grow.
